This 4 hour course covers types of Mass licenses, types of firearms, firing a handgun on the range and everything you need to know to safely own and store firearms. Use of all equipment and ammunition is included in the fee.

During the course students will be given a thorough explanation of the Massachusetts Assault Weapons Ban as well as the opportunity to shoot a Mass Compliant AR-15 rifle.

Upon successfully completing this course students will receive a diploma from the NRA in Home Firearm Safety (LTC-007) which is a required course for Mass Permits Class A, Class B, or FID Card.

Too busy to make it to a class? For this course Mass Firearms School will send one of our certified instructors to your home. This course will cover all the information taught in our Basic Firearms Safety Course without the range time. Scheduling is very flexible. This 1 day course is intended to further develop the knowledge, skills and attitude essential for the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and provide information on the law-abiding citizen's right of self defense.

Students will be taught the proper mind set and awareness required for effective self defense, plus the fundamentals of defensive marksmanship.

Strategies for home safety and provisions of the law pertaining to use of deadly force for self defense are also covered.
